HIGH-TENSILE FASTENERS · GRADE-LED SELECTION

High-Tensile Hex Bolts - Grades 8.8 and 10.9

High-tensile hex bolts are selected by the applicable dimensional standard, metric thread, property class, finish and joint requirement. Bhartee Industries offers an inquiry workflow for property classes 8.8 and 10.9 without forcing buyers to repeat common selections across every size line.

GRADE SELECTION

Treat 8.8 and 10.9 as engineering choices

Property class is not a cosmetic selection. It affects the mechanical requirement of the fastener and must be compatible with the mating nut, washer, joint design and applicable specification. Bhartee Industries records the requested class; final suitability remains the customer's engineering responsibility.

Property class 8.8

A commonly specified high-tensile class for industrial assemblies; confirm the governing design standard.

Property class 10.9

A higher-strength class for applications specifically designed and approved for it.

Customer-specified class

Use Other / Custom where a drawing or project specification defines a different requirement.

DIMENSIONAL STANDARD

Choose partial or full threading separately

The property class does not determine whether the bolt is partially or fully threaded. Use DIN 931 for the partially threaded pattern and DIN 933 for the fully threaded pattern, then select 8.8 or 10.9 as the property class.

COATING COMPATIBILITY

Specify finish and reporting together

Coating selection should be reviewed against the fastener grade, application, assembly method and customer specification. Corrosion-test hours or coating thickness should be entered as customer requirements, not assumed from the finish name alone.

DOCUMENTATION

Add quality-document requirements to the RFQ

MTC, surface-treatment report and PDI can be requested as required. State any inspection, traceability, test-report or drawing reference in the inquiry remarks so it appears against the same RFQ reference.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is grade 10.9 always better than grade 8.8?

No. The correct property class is determined by the joint design and governing specification. A higher numerical class should not be substituted without engineering approval.

Can high-tensile bolts have different finishes?

Yes, but coating compatibility must be reviewed against the property class, application and customer specification. The inquiry captures the requested finish and reporting needs.

Can MTC and inspection requirements be included?

Yes. MTC, surface-treatment report and PDI can be requested as required, with any additional inspection instructions entered in the RFQ remarks.
