LOCKING NUTS · NYLON-INSERT AND ALL-METAL

Nylock and Prevailing-Torque Lock Nuts

Lock nuts use a nylon insert, deformed all-metal section, flange or locking insert to create prevailing torque in the threaded assembly. Bhartee Industries keeps each mechanism as a distinct product choice so functionally different nuts do not become ambiguous lines in the same RFQ.

TYPE SELECTION

Choose the locking mechanism deliberately

The joint environment, assembly method, service conditions and governing specification determine which lock-nut design is appropriate. Do not substitute one locking mechanism for another without technical approval.

Nylock Nuts

Nylon-insert lock nuts to DIN 985 / DIN 982; nut height follows the selected standard.

Flange Nylock Nuts

Nylon-insert nuts with serrated or non-serrated flange variants recorded as separate lines.

All-metal Lock Nuts

Steel-insert flange and prevailing-torque designs where an all-metal mechanism is specified.

DIMENSION RULE

Nut height follows the selected product standard

No overall-length field is shown for the approved lock-nut families. Buyers enter thread diameter, pitch, material or property class, finish and quantity. Variant fields appear only when serrated, non-serrated, top-lock or centre-lock choices are technically distinct.

MATERIAL AND FINISH

Keep the lock nut compatible with its mating fastener

Material, class, thread and finish should be reviewed with the mating bolt or screw. Stainless-steel selections do not ask for a separate finish, while steel options expose approved coating choices and Other / Custom.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Add only the appropriate mating hardware

Nylock Nuts can suggest a compatible Hex Head Bolt and Plain / Flat Washer. Flange and all-metal variants keep recommendations narrower because washer use and flange function depend on the specific joint design.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Are DIN 985 and DIN 982 Nylock Nuts the same height?

No. They identify different standard forms, including different nut-height configurations. Select the required standard rather than treating them as interchangeable.

Should serrated and non-serrated flange lock nuts be separate lines?

Yes. They have different bearing and locking behavior, so the inquiry keeps serrated and non-serrated variants as separate specifications.

Are lock nuts requested in Pieces or Kg?

The approved lock-nut products are currently requested in Pieces only.
