TECHNICAL SUMMARY
What to include in the inquiry
Use the applicable drawing and governing standard as the final authority. Other / Custom keeps unusual requirements inside the same RFQ.
ProcessAutocatalytic nickel-phosphorus alloy coating
ReferenceISO 4527:2003
Excluded by standard scopeNickel-boron, Ni-P composites and ternary alloys
Phosphorus inquiryBhartee-recommended, Low, Medium, High or Other / Custom
Required inputsSubstrate, significant surfaces, coating designation / thickness, heat treatment and tests
Report optionCoating-thickness report when specified
SCOPE
Confirm that the requested deposit is nickel-phosphorus
ISO 4527 does not cover nickel-boron alloy coatings, nickel-phosphorus composites or ternary alloys. Identify the exact coating chemistry required by the drawing or project specification.
PHOSPHORUS REQUIREMENT
Use low, medium or high only when the specification defines it
The form allows Bhartee-recommended review or a customer-defined category. The final composition requirement and acceptance method must come from the governing specification.
GEOMETRY
Identify significant bores, recesses and dimensional interfaces
Autocatalytic deposition can be selected for complex precision parts, but the drawing must still identify surfaces, masking, dimensional allowances and measurement locations.
POST-TREATMENT
State heat-treatment and property requirements
Any pre- or post-coating heat treatment, hardness, adhesion, porosity, corrosion or wear requirement must be specified rather than inferred from the process name.
